What Visa Should You Apply For?
Foreign nationals married to Filipinas can apply for the 13A Visa (Immigrant Visa by Marriage). This spousal visa allows permanent residency for foreign nationals and is available to individuals from countries that have diplomatic relations with the Philippines.
Chinese nationals, however, must apply for the MCL Visa (Permanent Resident Visa for a Chinese National Married to a Filipino Citizen), provided they already hold a valid Probationary Non-Quota Immigrant Visa.

To apply for a 13A Visa, you’ll need the following documents:
- Completed application form
- Joint letter request addressed to the Commissioner from you and your Filipino spouse
- Duly accomplished CGAF (BI Form CGAF-001-Rev 2)
- Marriage Certificate or Marriage Contract
- Birth Certificate or certified true copy of the BI-issued Identification Certificate of your Filipino spouse
- Photocopy of your passport bio page and latest admission with valid authorized stay
- Valid National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance (required if applying six months or more after your first arrival in the Philippines)
